On Thursday, February 25 at 7:00 pm, the Association of Dominican Classical Artists, Inc. (ADCA) will host its third concert in the 2015-16 VI Concert Series.
This series celebrates the ADCA's annual concert tradition featuring the ADCA's own ensemble, La Camerata Washington Heights. The ADCA was initiated in 1980 with the participation of Dominican and other Latino soloists playing classical music with orchestral accompaniment.
This concert is a celebration of Dominican folkloric as well as popular music, featuring performances of dances spectacularly choreographed by the renowned Dominican scholar, educator, and performer Maestro Leonardo Iván Domínguez and Conjunto Folklórico, whose repertoire includes more than 50 dances of Afro-Dominican and colonial Spanish heritage, such as merengue, bachata, vals, and mangulina.
This a fundraising event and any donation will be gratefully received. A silent auction will be available.
