In-group started simply as a group of friends who used a gig at Cornelia Street as an opportunity to perform and explore each other's unique compositions. As young musicians, our schedules are often consumed with gigs, new projects, and classes that having not only a band to play but a space to perform new music is rare. In-group provides that space for us as musicians and in turn offers its listeners a unique experience in which they can hear a true variety of works throughout one set of music. Tied together by their foundations in the jazz tradition and shared interest in experimentation each member offers something different to the sound of the band, as both composers and performers. The original group includes Adi Meyerson on bass, Alden Hellmuth on alto saxophone, Morgan Guerin on tenor saxophone, Lex Korten on piano, and JK Kim on drums.

On February 9th, 2019 at 9:30pm In-group will host a night of completely original music at Shapeshifter Lab that will showcase the band's eclectic sound and energy. Come listen to and enjoy this exciting presentation of works by this talented band!
