Tiny Tree is a new quartet led by Bassist Steve Williams that explores the affective capabilities of rhythmic intricacy. Blending dense harmonic and rhythmic structures with free improvisation, this group creates very delicate soundscapes that invoke various modes of deep sentiment and wonder. The songbook, composed by Williams, is played by Lesley Mok on drums, Noah Becker on Woodwinds, and Juho Valjakka on piano, who all provide a sensitive yet fierce improvisational touch that makes for a sense of childlike wonder prevalent throughout the music.
